— The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Information Institute (I.I.I.) has experts available to conduct interviews on the insurance ramifications of the deadly string of twisters that tore through Oklahoma and parts of the Southern Plains this week.

Wind damage from tornadoes is covered under standard homeowners and business insurance policies. Damage to cars from wind is covered under the comprehensive portion of an auto insurance policy, an optional coverage.

Five people were reported dead and over 100 were injured in the violent storms. In addition, initial estimates indicate over 100 homes were destroyed and 70 more were damaged.

According to the (NWS) severe thunderstorms are expected to continue today across large sections of Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana so there will likely be additional insurance claims.
