NEW YORK, April 25, 2002 - Injuries and property damage caused by the explosion in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City will be covered by property/casualty insurance, according to the 探花精选 Information Institute (I.I.I.)
Workers injured by falling debris or burned as a result of the explosion will be covered by workers compensation for medical costs, rehabilitation (if necessary) and lost wages.
Damage to buildings and business property will be covered by commercial insurance. Residents living in area apartments will also be covered by renters or condo/co-op insurance policies for damage to personal property. They will be covered for the cost of additional living expenses if their home is now unsafe to live in because of the disaster. Damage to vehicles will be covered by the comprehensive portion of an auto insurance policy.
